The movie below (if you receive this by email you will have to come to the blog) highlights the unique Multiplet Assignment Preview available in ACD/1D NMR Assistant.
This feature helps users evaluate potential assignments by considering the chemical shifts, multiplet properties, and integration values of experimental multiplets in the spectrum.
Just another reason to embrace NMR software. A piece of paper can't do this:
If you can't get the above video to work, or if you want a bigger version , click here to watch the demonstration.
The above example is just for illustration purposes. The best way to evaluate the software on your own data is to go to the ACD/Labs website and request a free trial.
Stay Tuned....next up, the structure verification algorithm in ACD/1D NMR Assistant!
Ryan, very well done. This software has some wonderful features that, you're right, can't even come close to being replicated with static paper spectra. How did you create this screencast?
Also, does this software run on Mac and Linux?

Thanks for the comments Rich.
The screencasts were created using Camtasia Studio. It seems to work fairly well for the creation of these types of videos.

Unfortunately, I am still looking for a solution to embed Camtasia produced movies in my blog (i.e. youtube, google video, videoegg, etc.) as opposed to sending users to another page to watch the video. The compression that those services provides result in movies that are unwatchable, so this is the only solution I currently have. Any suggestions would be welcome!
As for the MAC and Linux question, ACD/1D NMR Assistant cannot run without an installation of Windows in a native or virtualized environment.
With virtualized technology such as Apple Bootcamp, Parallels Desktop, Microsoft Virtual PC, VMWare, etc.

I would recommend anyone interested in trying the software on a MAC or Linux platform to obtain an evaluation copy from ACD/Labs and try it out with one of the above software packages, or something different depending on their own.
Here's a couple of reviews from users who have tried with ACD/1D and 2D NMR Processor:
